Elegant lab opal engagement ring inlaid with blue-green lab created opal on each side of a pear blue topaz set in sterling silver. The lab opal in this engagement ring has a blue body with flashes of bright blue and green. The center gemstone is a pear shaped blue topaz and weighs 1.00 carat. The ring (style CS014) measures 10.5mm wide at the tip of the topaz and the widest part of the body of the ring is 8.2mm.  It tapers down to 4.5mm at the bottom of the shank. This blue topaz and lab opal ring would make a unique and affordable alternative to a traditional diamond engagement ring. The laboratory created opal in this ring has essentially the same optical, physical and chemical properties as natural opal. The primary difference is natural opal contains water and laboratory grown opal has no water content. The water is replaced with resin which actually makes the synthetic opal stronger and less prone to cracking and breakage than natural opal. Lab created opal is a great option to get the fire and colors of top Australian opal at an affordable price.
